Amber coloured fluorite is not particularly common in Weardale but occasionally
specimens did surface from this quarry. This is an excellent example
with fluorite crystals up to 12mm with a scattering of stubby nail head
calcites and aragonite.

Rogerley is well known for its green fluorite but in 2005 a small pocket
produced specimens exhibiting two generations of fluorite -later purple
fluorite coating earlier amber fluorite with a thin veneer of quartz
in between. Unusual.
